American Public Gas Association
APGA is the only not-for-profit trade organization representing America’s publicly owned natural gas local distribution companies (LCDs). APGA represents the interests of public gas before Congress, federal agencies and other energy-related stakeholders by developing regulatory and legislative policies that further the goals of our members. In addition, APGA organizes meetings, seminars and workshops with a specific goal to improve the reliability, operational efficiency, and regulatory environment in which public gas systems operate.
Through APGA, public gas systems work together to stay reliably informed about new developments in safety, public policy, operations, technology, and the marketplace that could affect the communities and consumers they serve.
Southern Gas Association
Since 1908, Southern Gas Association (SGA) has been investing in the people who make up the natural gas industry by providing learning opportunities for personal and professional growth. Specializing in facilitating peer-to-peer collaboration, educating on industry and leadership topics, and developing and managing joint industry projects, SGA supports member companies volunteers and industry leaders, who work to actively engage in the industry for a sustainable tomorrow.
Geospatial Information and Technology Association
GITA continues to be the premier professional association for enriching the broader geospatial community. GITA’s mission is to educate, connect and advocate for the geospatial community. GITA strives to provide their members with high quality, industry-specific educational opportunities and networking engagements, advance the usage and understanding of geospatial technologies and continue to grow our involvement within and beyond the infrastructure and utilities markets.
Pipeline Open Data Standard
Since 1998, the PODS Data Model has been increasing safety and integrity of pipelines worldwide by providing pipeline operators with an enterprise database architecture that is comprehensive, open, vendor-neutral, highly-scalable, and proven.
PODS supports the growing and changing needs of the pipeline industry through ongoing development and maintenance of the Data Model and Standards. This is led by the Technical Committee on Governance, responsible for the strategic technical direction of PODS Association. The work, including debate, deliberation and resulting recommendations, is conducted through the assigned Project Teams and Work Groups.
